Ludwik Stanislaw de Laveaux's biography might be considered as a typical painter biography. He owned all required attributes - young, talented, almost genial, deadly diseased, living like a beggar, not appreciated by his contemporaries, finally died in age of 26. This is the shortest way of describing life of one of the most brilliant artists of his generation, master and revolutionist of the nocturnes, who is having right now his first ever monographic exhibition in the rooms of the National Museum in Cracow.
